Nordic Edtech Forum – N8

the N8-region; finland, estonia, latvia, lithuania, sweden, denmark, norway, iceland + worldwide.

design challenge: a purpose driven ecosystem.

N8 is a network of edtech founders and companies as well as some edtech evangelists thats have come together around the idea that together we can achieve more. A network that in ideal is about action together as in comparison a network of connections.

Since 11.2017 after joining the forum Peter (our founder) and Märt Aro (co-founder of N8) have been in active dialogue around developing the edtech ecosystem in the N8-region as well as all across the world.

building the basics – formalizing.

Since the spring 2019 the forum has had an elected board I (online elections) as well as elected country presidents for each of the N8 countries.

Setting up formal structures and engaging the members in strategy and vision work. Starting co-operation projects between members.

The N8 Webpage was launched in 2018, designed and web support by Educraftor.

spin-off: innovation loop in education.

The innovation loop in education is about creating interaction and dialogue between researchers, practitioners (teachers) and innovators (edtech entrepreneurs).

The main idea is to implement and test new innovations and to spin-off new research into the education sector as fast and as smoothly as possible. Teachers would get access to new tools for teaching, researchers see their knowledge implemented and have new subjects to research and innovators would get realtime feedback from practitioners and researchers for their innovations.

spin-off: the Leonardo Initiative Framework.

The Leonardo initiative is about creating a global centre of excellence for innovation in learning and education, bringing together the 3 stakeholders in the edtech innovation loop adding to the dialogue the decision and impact makers, read; governments, international organisations like UNESCO and save the children as well as investors in the education sector.

  • Global lobbying for creating a, Global Centre of Excellence for Innovation in Learning and Education.
  • Engaging in with the Sectors of government, industry, academia and startups, to set up the first Centre of Excellence.
  • Creating a culture and community of do and process in learning with said stakeholders.
